Finland wedding photographer wedding storyteller Nordic wedding story
I’m sorry, but there’s just no way I can get the story of 2018 down to a reasonable blog post length. These twelve months, and equally many weddings, have truly felt as overwhelming as the selection (!) of photos in this post. This post, like the past year, is not for those faint of heart.
The story of my 2018 is not one fit for a blog because despite the excruciating pain of loss and sorrow I’ve experienced this past year there is no way I would ever take away any part of it. Especially not one kitten, sheep, loving couple, kid, hen, cow or dog – so I just threw them all in here.
This post in all it’s overwhelming glory is probably the best answer I could give of how it is to work as a documentary photographer. These are the people, moments and places I carry around with me, sometimes making my mind feel like it’s crumbling under the heavy load of all the memories I want to hold onto. Still, as already mentioned, I wouldn’t give up any of it.
Dive in on your own risk and take see how far you come. I promise to be better at sharing stories during the year to come, because all of these people obviously deserve one of their own. I’m just flabbergasted as usual by how much every person one meets carry with them and what a privilege it is to be the one honored with documenting all of it. I mean all of it, I haven’t left out the father of the bride dressed out as Gandalf, the barefoot Kenyan dance lesson under the blood moon or the hilarious kids making my job a pure joy.
Thank you. You give me more than I can process in a year and I’ll carry all of you with me into the next.
