Turku Häät Kakola Graniittilinna
—
There is something magical about spring in Finland.
After a long and dark winter the clear light of spring is blinding. The sunlight is warm, the evenings mild and the sunsets unforgettable. Add to it the vibrant spring greens and cherry blossoms and winter is a long lost memory.
… and not much beats a spring wedding
Emilia & Oskar knew as much, but they couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect spring day for their May wedding.
Their day started with getting ready in separate rooms, at the Kakola Hotel, surrounded by friends. After that we had a wonderfully intimate and emotional first look in the old prison chapel, where only an hour later they read their personal vows in front of their sobbing guests.
Right after the ceremony we did a short portrait sessions, enjoying the sunshine and the cherry blossoms before heading into the Graniittilinna for the reception. I was with them until sunset, when we took a final set of late night portraits overlooking the city before I said goodbye, and walked home in the mild spring night.
It really was as idyllic as it sounds and filled with beautiful details. This truly is a story to save for later inspiration, because I can’t imagine a more perfect spring wedding than that of Emilia & Oskar.
